User Data Deletion

FinWise respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains what data we hold and how to have it deleted.

What Data We Store

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1 — Delete from within the app (recommended)

  1. Open FinWise on your computer
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Click "Delete My Account"
  4. Confirm the deletion — all local data will be permanently erased

Option 2 — Delete the data file manually

  1. Close FinWise
  2. Open Finder and press Cmd + Shift + G
  3. Type ~/.FinWise and press Enter
  4. Delete the bank_data.json file — this removes all stored account data

Option 3 — Contact us

If you signed in with Facebook and would like us to confirm deletion of any data associated with your Facebook account, contact us and we will respond within 30 days:

Please include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line and the email address associated with your account.

Facebook-Specific Data

When you sign in with Facebook, FinWise only requests your public profile (name and email). We do not store this data on any server. To revoke FinWise's access to your Facebook account independently:

  1. Go to Facebook Settings → Security and Login → Apps and Websites
  2. Find FinWise (or Simple Banking App) and click Remove

We will process all deletion requests and confirm completion within 30 days.
